How Top Realtors Get Their "Big Break"

I heard this story on a recent episode of Wiser than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and it stuck with me.
When her guest was an aspiring comedian she was stuck in a loop. Every time she met with a producer or agent, she heard the same thing: "Let me know when you’re in something."
But that was the problem—she needed someone to give her a break so she could be in something.
One afternoon, she had a bold idea. Instead of waiting, she called up a few fellow struggling comedians and said, "Let’s put on our own show—and invite the producers and agents to see what we can do."
They wrote the sketches, booked the space, and hustled to fill the room. And when the curtain went up, they delivered.
The show was a hit. Several landed agents. And the one with the big idea—Carol Burnett—got the break that launched her legendary career.
Except… it wasn’t given to her.
She made it happen.
There’s a powerful lesson in that: Don’t wait for your big break. Make it.
What are you waiting for, that you could make happen? What is holding you back from taking that action?
It’s worth some introspection. The first quarter of the year is already behind us, which leaves a substantial amount of time for you to make 2025 your best yet. Be like Carol Burnett (who just turned 90 and is in excellent shape), and make your big break happen this year!
